Annual Meeting HighlightsFeatured

Thirty BRNN members gathered to walk, talk, eat and celebrate together at the 12th Annual Meeting of the Blue Ridge Naturalist Network. Most attendees enjoyed a morning walk with Luke Cannon, Charlotte Caplan or Ranger E.J. Dwigans of the Holmes Educational State Forest, where the meeting was held. The weather was perfect and the mushrooms even cooperated for Charlotte’s walk.

Park Science at Twin Creeks, Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Becky Nichols, PhD, Great Smoky Mountains National Park entomologist, will discuss the Twin Creeks Science and Education Center, the staff that work there and what they do. She will also cover specifics about her job, including aquatic insect monitoring and other insect-related projects. She works on the All Taxa Biodiversity inventory, which is an effort to identify all species in the Park.
